A Chapter 7 is a bankruptcy where we discharge the unsecured debt: credit cards, medical bills, doctor bills, check cashing places, all those type of debts for which there's no security pledged. In the situation where there is security pledged, then if they're current we can reaffirm and keep them.
For example, an individual who has a house and he's current in the payment and would like to keep it but cannot pay those credit cards, we can get rid of the credit cards and work out a reaffirmation agreement with the bank so they keep their home as well as their car, for example.
